song of the unity of unknown sounds
orioles know the core
of the yak gyred moor's cooing:
i coo amore! i coo amore!
of these sounds i am aware
and on the sheer cliffs waiting
you are waiting and gnashing
in the distant views of the sea
in the nameless cage of wonder
and surrender the topic is unknown
furry laughter gurgles repeating itself
from your knees green cobras grow
and meteorites wear your kimono
we are soaring! we are soaring!
oh! through my garden!
through the narrow fumes
of fireflies which connect to spiders
this delicate slanting
in the azure skin of the kiwi-eyed
peaks of listening rain
in the echoing
of these hopeful mountains
the slick grass is like a vision
of the night sky
grasshoppers ride the crows
in the chill moonlight
pretending they are plovers
this tangle of light
is cool (your thoughts are pines)
in the cascade of cicadas
