lapidary judgements prey
upon the febrile and coruscating
conjunctions of false edits
in the logs and in the petrification

the map of the bay shows
the mouth of an immense cyclops
monster beatnik kharactere
opening its blue furred
blue rimed lips
so that the bay is an expanse
of pink coral sheet and
the fanciful and feather-foaming
terracotta barques which gather there
are either pretending to be its food
or becoming its language
cork-screwing spring masts
and all

they are lapidary judgements
interleavening and counter-indicated
they go on even though their structure
is larger than the peak that stands in
for their identity

judgements are long wave forms
whose identities hide
among the short wave relics

hands touch the clay
just as the orchestra picks up their instruments
to play

and in the sandbox
the child has seized hold
of a unicorn beetle
the size of a snapping turtle

which tells the tale
of the old gold transparent ogre
who lies in disrepair
along the bay road
where the intricate surface of the judgements
encroaches on the body
of the monster beatnik
perch move sideways in the floral
engraving of its mineral hemistich

which begs the question
how does
our hoary colony
our long blue hair
all of it
pass through the smoke
of the cyclop's
whistle
and then onward
into the mouth and mawe
of all things
